Oscar Wilde's allegory about selfishness and sharing is recreated in this animated film. When a giant builds a wall around his castle garden to keep the children away, his home is invaded by ghostly personifications of snow, wind, frost and hail. This perpetual winter lasts until the children creep back inside. All but one of them, a strange little boy, run away at the sight of the giant. That little boy asks the giant to help him climb a tree, and hugs the giant for his help. Years later, the mysterious little boy returns. It is the Christ child, and he leads the giant away to the garden of heaven. Children of all ages will be enchanted by charming story and its strong Christian message. Discussion questions are printed on back of the case.
