The Littlest Angel is a heart-warming story of a young shepherd boy Michael, played by Johnny Whitaker ("Family Affair"), who suffers a fatal accident and winds up in heaven. Upon arriving in heaven, he is assigned a guardian Angel, Patience (Gwynne) who tries to assist his adjustment to his new life.
Patience allows Michael to return to earth to retrieve his most prized possession, a simple box filled with a few simple keepsakes from his life on earth. When he returns, he learns that God has decided to send His son to be born in Bethlehem and all the angels are being invited to give a gift to the Christ child. But Michael has nothing to give, except his simple box. He is afraid it is an unworthy gift, but he learns otherwise.
