JustFaith, a thirty-week adult educational and formational process, offers an opportunity for people of faith to embark upon a spiritual journey into compassion. Most of us long to be a generous and compassionate people. However, occasions to explore this tradition in a deliberate and engaging way have largely not been available. JustFaith provides a lively and challenging format to read, view, discuss, pray, experience and be formed by the justice tradition that changes lives, inspires faithful witness, and transforms the world through love and service. JustFaith is an extensive, conversion-based process that provides a context in which participants can grow in their commitment to care for the vulnerable and to become advocates for justice, and serves to strengthen the growing commitment of churches to be agents of social transformation, mercy and compassion. The JustFaith program has been offered in over nine hundred churches from a variety of denominations in thirty-seven states throughout the country.

This kit contains all the resources (23 books and videos) needed for teaching the JustFaith class. Participants will need to purchase individual copies of each book, available through Sowers Books. Videos are for in class viewing. Optimum class size is limited to 10-12 students.

These seldom-told stories are significant examples of how The United Methodist Church has advocated for racial-ethnic communities in situations of social crisis. The DVD explores the Janpanese-American internment camps, the Underground Railroad, the Trail of Tears, Pacific Island immigration and Hispanic/Latin American border crossing and immigration.

Native Americans living in major cities sustain their cultural identities and traditions, far from their tribal homelands. Narrated by Conroy Chino of the Acoma Pueblo, this resource explores how government relocation programs in the 1950s enticed significant numbers of Native Americans to leave the reservation for life in major cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and the San Francisco Bay Area. The story is told through their eyes and of subsequent generations as they maintain their tribal identity far away from the culturally nurturing climate of the reservation. Chino explores issues facing Native people in urban environments, illustrating the importance of access to adequate health care, education, and the strong sense of community and cultural identity needed to thrive in big cities.

Featured are the testimony and experience of such persons as Desmond Tutu, Allan Boesak, Winnie Mandela, Beyers Naude, Frank Chikane, Evelyn Mahlatsi, Thabo Mbeki, and T. Simon Farisani. This resource will help participants discover for themselves the reality of the freedom struggle in South Africa today. The video is arranged in seven segments, each about ten minutes long, which are thoroughly integrated into the flow of "Until We are Free," the study guide to the book, SOUTH AFRICA'S MOMENT OF TRUTH (Friendship Press). A "suggestions-for-use" brochure is included with the video. An on-tape narrator also guides participants through this important and moving material.

This is the inspiring documentary film about the residents of Billings, Montana, who responded to an upsurge in hate violence by standing together for a hate-free community. In 1993, hate activities in Billings reached a crescendo. KKK fliers were distributed, the Jewish cemetery was desecrated, the home of a Native American family was painted with swastikas, and a brick was thrown through the window of a six-year-old boy who displayed a Menorah for Hanukkah. Rather than resigning itself to the growing climate of hate, the community took a stand. The community made an unmistakable declaration: "Not In Our Town." Since then, no serious acts of hate violence have been reported in Billings
