WARNING SIGNS : HOW TO HELP SOMEONE WHO IS SUICIDAL

VT2746
Suicide is often a preventable tragedy. The keys to suicide prevention are knowing what the warning signs are and what to do to help. This program teaches people to recognize the signs of a depressed or suicidal person and to take specific actions to help them. Featuring Dr. Alan L. Berman, Executive Director, American Association of Suicidology, the video covers topics such as: understanding depression and its connection with suicide; recognizing signs that a friend or loved one is suicidal; the groups most at risk for suicide (young people and the elderly); and dos and don'ts for helping a person in crisis. Paired with the video "Cry For Help", both videos can be used by individuals or churches and caregivers to understand both the signs of depression and how to help those who suffer from it.
